Full Job Description:

Northern Tier Community Action Head Start is tentatively seeking to hire a Family Support Worker (FSW) / Home Visitor to provide family advocate and educational services in Coudersport beginning in August of 2021. We are considering starting this position remotely in July on a part-time basis so that the applicant may have time to recruit program participants in this service area.

We are looking for an individual with great oral and written communication skills who can build relationships and help to support our Head Start families.

Computer literacy, background check and clearances are required.

This position is responsible for child developmental screenings and case management to help the family strive towards goal achievement through referrals to local services. The Family Service Worker (50%) is key to providing resources and information on a variety of topics including child development, safety, health and dental care. The Home Visitor (50%) will be responsible for recruiting and providing home-based services to families in the Potter County area. Full-time employee status requires that a full-roster is acquired.

This is a full-time position working approximately 37.5 hours per week with the possibility of becoming full-time in the future. Hourly rate is based on qualifications and experience. A degree in human services or social work is preferred. Within eighteen months of hire, a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field must be obtained within 18 months of hire. This credential will be paid by the company. Mileage reimbursement is provided to eligible staff for home visits.
