The Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) through the Department of Community and Economic Development, the core operating funding for “Community Action” agencies makes possible the leverage of other grant funded programs and services.  The level of client services would be greatly diminished if operated individually without the support of the Community Services Block Grant funds. The fiscal and executive support provided through CSBG increases agency capacity and the level of services available to help families.  On a direct service level the Community Services Block Grant provides case management, housing and homeless prevention and food & nutrition services.
