Homeless Assistance Programs

Housing Programs

Northern Tier Community Action Corporation has many different Housing programs that will help low-income families.

Homeless Assistance Programs

The Homeless Assistance Program (HAP) may assist eligible individuals or families who are in imminent danger of eviction or are currently homeless in Cameron County in the form of security deposit, first month, or past due rental assistance.

Emergency Food & Shelter Program

The Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) may provide financial assistance in the form of first month or past due rental assistance to eligible individuals or families in Cameron and Elk counties.

Cameron County Homeless Prevention Program

The Cameron County Homeless Prevention Program (CCHPP) is funded through Marcellus Shale Impact Fees collected under Act13, 2012 via the Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement (PHARE) fund to address the impacts from drilling.

The CCHPP was created through a collaborative partnership between Northern Tier Community Action and Cameron County Commissioners to provide case management with financial assistance for qualified low-income families affected by the reduction of available rentals and increased rental costs impacted by the Marcellus drilling in Cameron County.

Potter County Homeless Prevention Program (PCHPP)

The Potter County Homeless Prevention Program (PCHPP) is funded through Marcellus Shale Impact Fees collected under Act13, 2012 via the Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement (PHARE) fund to address the impacts from drilling.  The PCHPP was created through a collaborative partnership between Northern Tier Community Action, Potter County Commissioners, Potter County Human Services and the Potter County Housing Authority to provide case management with financial assistance for qualified low-income families affected by the reduction of available rentals and increased rental costs impacted by the Marcellus drilling in Potter County.

These programs are designed to aid individuals and families in crisis situations who are in immediate need of housing assistance.  Income guidelines do apply.

Housing inspections are required.  This means the case manager comes to the home.   Applicants do not have any travel burdens, but a face-to-face meeting is mandatory.
